our services

Every project begins with an On-Site Kitchen Garden Consultation, where we assess your space, discuss your growing goals, and determine the best path forward for your garden. From there, you may choose additional planning or coaching services depending on the support you need for the season.

On-Site kitchen garden CONSULTATION

$250

Begin with a 60-minute on-site session to assess your space, discuss your growing goals, and answer your gardening questions. Whether you’re starting from scratch or enhancing an existing garden, we’ll walk your property together to determine the best location and setup. You’ll leave with practical guidance and a clear plan to move forward.

Your consultation may include:

  • Sun analysis: What does “full sun” really mean? We’ll look at how much sun your garden receives and how to work successfully with your conditions.

  • Structural setup: We’ll assess your raised beds, fencing, and pathways, and discuss practical options for layout and design.

  • Soil education: Healthy soil is the foundation of a productive garden. Learn how to build soil health using locally sourced compost and amendments.

  • Support structures: Vertical growing adds beauty and maximizes production. We’ll explore ready-to-buy and DIY trellising options.

  • Irrigation options: Best practices for both hands-on and low-maintenance watering.

  • Crop planning: Our season runs from April through November. We’ll discuss which crops you’d like to grow and how they fit into our planting and harvesting windows.

  • Q and A time

Follow up: After the visit, you’ll receive a summary email with key takeaways and recommendations.

Mary’s planning and planting techniques, custom-fit to your garden

$275

Spend less time guessing and more time enjoying the process of planting, growing, and harvesting in your garden.

This package includes:

  • Your grow list: Together we’ll decide what to plant – We’ll choose the vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers that best fit your schedule, your garden’s layout, and local growing conditions. You’ll start by filling out a crop checklist, then we’ll refine your selections during a follow-up call so you feel confident about your choices.

  • Custom crop layout: Using your grow list and garden specifications, I’ll create an illustrated map showing exactly where to plant each crop. We’ll plan for proper spacing, vertical growing, succession planting, and high-intensity techniques to make the most of your garden.

  • Planting calendar: I’ll provide a schedule tailored to your garden and our Northeast Zone 6b/7a region, showing when to sow seeds, transplant starters, and harvest each crop.

  • Sourcing guide: Guidance on seeds and starter plants, including preferred local nurseries and online sources, favorite varieties, and how many plants to purchase. This ensures you have everything you need to bring your garden plan to life.

Plant your garden with Mary

$150 per 60-minute session

Plant your garden with me and ensure everything is in the right place at the right time. I’ll demonstrate best-practice techniques for direct seeding and transplanting each crop, guiding you as we work together in your garden.

Timing: Most gardeners book two sessions for their spring and summer garden:

  • April session: Cool-season crops, such as lettuce, kale, and peas

  • May: Warm-season crops, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers

  • August: Second round of cool-season crops for a fall harvest

Sourcing: You’ll provide seeds and starter plants. I recommend starting with the Seasonal Planting Plan so we have a clear roadmap for your garden, though it’s optional if you prefer to plan independently.
